Hi gang! After graduation I went to Ole Miss for three years, majoring in Business Administration. Then I dropped out to pursue one of my passions at the time - training Tennessee Walking Horses for show and managing a horse ranch near Shuqualak, Ms.
Got drafted in 1969. Flew helicopters in the army, including a year in Vietnam as a medevac pilot. Was already into flying, so stayed in the Army a while after Vietnam. Met my first and only wife, Joyce at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. We will be celebrating our 32nd anniversary this summer (2005). We have 3 sons and 5 grandsons and just a few weeks ago, the first girl was born into the family - Sophie, our sixth grandchild and only granddaughter.
As you can see by the photo, music is still very much a part of my life. These days I play in a worship band along with my wife and two of my sons. We play some pretty rocking music. Not like a lot of church music you may be accustomed to.
After leaving the army in 1975, I returned to Oxford where I flew in the Mississippi National Guard and worked as a flight instructor at the Oxford airport while taking 2 1/2 years to finish my one remaining year in college.
Moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1977 where I took a flying job with a computer company. Flew as a corporate pilot for 17 years, but all the while was being given more and more responsibilities in customer service and software development, primarily in the pharmacy computer field.
Went through several acquistions and mergers until finally the company I was working for sold off the airplanes. I gave up flying and stayed in the computer industry. In 1994 I started building Internet sites and over the next few years learned much about that business, including how to program backend and database stuff. I do that full time with my own company. All three sons work with me from time to time though they also have their own interests. Guess you could say I'm a software/Internet developer.
Still love flying and try to stay current, though health has been an issue from time to time. I'm basically healthy, but got fat and lazy, and take medication for both high blood pressure and diabetes. I'm working hard to reverse the trends, but it's a slow process, especially when you like to eat as much as I do.
Love writing books, love flying, love my sons and grandchildren. You can catch up on much of what we're about at the following websites:
